Clouds, drizzle to usher in chillier temperatures

Posted:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Clouds and showers are around Thursday morning.

The national surface map shows that Wednesday's cold front is finally pushing into east Tennessee, allowing chillier temperatures to push in.

The short-range HRRR weather model depicts scattered rain at 8 a.m.

The morning commute will be wet.  There is some patchy dense fog around, so be ready for low visibility on the roads in a few spots.

Clouds will break up just after midday.

The short-range HRRR weather model tries to develop an additional stray shower as the back edge of the moisture clears Nashville around Noon, but those showers will remain rather isolated.

A northwest breeze will reach 15 mph later today, keeping highs in the low-and-mid 60s this afternoon despite some late day sunshine.

We're headed for the coldest night since the spring time after midnight – Meteorologist Justin Bruce has got details on News 2 This Morning from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m.
