Memphis woman accused of starving puppy to death

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -

A Memphis woman faces animal cruelty charges after police say she chained a six-month-old puppy to a tree and let him starve to death.

The Associated Press reported an anonymous tip Tuesday alerted police to the deceased puppy which is believed to have been dead for at least two days.

The canine was reportedly on a short leash while his food and water were placed several feet away.

The food was moldy and the dog had no shelter.

Thirty-three-year-old Tiffany Ward is being held on a $10,000 bond. She admitted to investigators she was the owner of the dog.
