Belmont cheerleaders join Beach Boys on stage at Schermerhorn
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
It was a big night for fans of The Beach Boys, who saw the group perform at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, but it was also a big night for the Belmont University cheerleaders.
The cheer squad got to dance on stage with the famed American rock band Tuesday.
"It was super exciting to get to dance with the Beach Boys," said cheerleader Angela Cheslock. "It was kind of nerve-racking because we've changed it like, a bunch of times because it's music. Everything is on your toes, last minute, but it was a great, awesome experience, especially for our school.
Whitney Boross said they hadn't met the band until right before the show backstage.
"Before the show, backstage, they came and hung out with us a little bit. We took pictures with them and talk to them about how it was gonna go, so it was really cool to be up there with them," she told News 2.
At every stop on their tour, The Beach Boys have chosen a local cheerleading squad to join them while they play their hit "Be True to Your School."
The girls from Belmont also got to hang out and watch the rest of the show after dancing on stage.
