NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Police are investigating after a 32-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Nashville early Tuesday evening.

The home invasion and assault occurred at 4:15 p.m. on Spence Enclave Lane, just off Lebanon Pike in south Nashville as the victim was getting ready to leave her home for work.

After raping the woman at gunpoint, he stole several items belonging to the victim, including an SUV.

The vehicle was recovered Wednesday morning at Ed Temple Boulevard and Clarksville Pike.

Officials stated the suspect is described as a black male around five feet, eleven inches tall.  He weighs approximately 150 pounds and has shoulder-length dreadlocks.

He was last seen wearing a beanie with a rim, dark pants, a dark t-shirt and skeleton-like gloves.

Police also said he is armed with a revolver.

The investigation is ongoing.
