The place known for zesty chicken is opening a new location in Hermitage.
Eager customers starting lining up at 5:30 a.m. Monday, five hours before Zaxby's officially opened at 4115 Lebanon Pike.
The restaurant sits near the Old Hickory Boulevard intersection, next to the shopping center that contains Big Lots, Hobby Lobby and Goodwill.
Licensee Bonnie Ryan told Nashville's News 2 the location was two years in the making.
"[Hermitage] was lacking a Zaxby's," she said.
Zaxby's offers a vast selection of chicken including wings, salads and sandwiches.
"It's fast-casual, fast food with a casual dining experience," Ryan said.
The chicken chain is also about personality, with chicken mascot "Little Zach" and its own vernacular for the dining experience that's advertised as "indescribably good."
In addition to the "zappetizers" and "zalads" on the menu, customers can also enjoy the Coke freestyle machine in the dining room.
The restaurant is designed with the same whimsy of other locations, but with pictures and trinkets that reflect the local neighborhood.
Based in the southeast, the Hermitage establishment adds to the more than 20 locations in the Nashville-area market.
For the grand opening of the Lebanon Pike location, the first 100 customers will receive a Fanatic Pack, which includes a deck of 52 cards with a free meal deal each week for a year.
Following Monday's grand opening, the Hermitage Zaxby's will be open seven days a week.
