Jones nets first NHL goal in win over Islanders

Rookie defenseman Seth Jones scored his first NHL goal to help the Predators defeat the New York Islanders Saturday night. The 3-2 victory gave Nashville their second win of the season.
After a scoreless first quarter, a pass from David Legwand put Jones in perfect position to net a slap shot passed New York goaltender Evgeni Nabokov.
The Islanders gained a 2-1 lead in the second with goals from Frans Nielsen and John Tavares. But, with under a minute left to go in the period, Patric Hornqvist managed a wrist shot through the legs of Nabokov.
Ryan Ellis netted the game winning goal at 3:23 into the third period. Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne finished the night with 14 saves.
The Predators continue their five game homestand Tuesday night against the Florida Panthers.
