Guests evacuated after meth lab explosion at Lebanon hotel

LEBANON, Tenn. -

Lebanon Police are investigating a methamphetamine lab explosion that took place at a hotel on Saturday evening.

The explosion happened at the Travel Inn on Murfreesboro Road around 7 p.m. on the second floor.

Officials said two suspects were trying to make methamphetamine inside the hotel room when the explosion happened. The force of the explosion reportedly knocked down a wall.

Hotel guests were evacuated with no reports of injuries.

Guests that were staying on the second floor near the explosion were relocated to other rooms.

HAZMAT crews responded to remove the chemicals from the hotel room.

Police said the suspects fled the scene.

No arrests have been made.

The investigation remains ongoing.
