Dog remains unaccounted for after fire destroys home

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. -

A man's dog remains unaccounted for after his home was seriously damaged by a fire Tuesday night.

The Hendersonville home on Marseille Court caught fire around 8 p.m.

Three residents live inside the home, but only one was present when the blaze broke out.

He managed to get outside safely and rescue one of his dogs.  The second dog remains unaccounted for.  

Authorities told News 2 the fire started in a kitchen in the basement area and spread throughout the entire home, which is considered a total loss.

All three residents have been placed in a hotel for the night.

No further details have been released.
