NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The Nashville Predators home opener is less than 24 hours away, but one big question remains.  Who will pair up with Shea Weber on defense?

The Nashville captain would normally take the ice with Roman Josi.  However, Josi is out indefinitely with a concussion.

"You don't really replace Roman. Roman does a lot of things that other guys can't do for us," said head coach Barry Trotz.  "But you fill the void. You fill it with the group of six."

Of the six defenders that could pair up with Weber, Seth Jones appears the most likely candidate.

"He's just played well and with a lot of poise," said Trotz.  "The other night when Yosi went down, he played big minutes and it didn't seem to phase him one bit."

Jones played a team high 25:46 against Colorado on Friday, and said he is excited about the chance to play along side of Weber.

"To play with one of the best defensemen in the NHL is obviously something pretty special," said Jones.  "I'm happy I have the opportunity."

The Predators face the Minnesota Wild at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bridgestone Arena.
