NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Children got a jump start on their hockey careers at the Nashville International Airport on Friday.

To kickoff the start of the NHL season, the Nashville Predators hosted Preds Day at the airport.

Kids got to play hockey in the airport and take on the famous Predators mascot, Gnash.

"It's a great way to bring part of the predator experience out on the road, and in this case to the airport, allow the kids to play street hockey with gnash. That's always the highlight for anyone. And again it's anther opportunity to pass out pocket schedules and literature and build more awareness to the start of the season," said Jerry Helper with the Nashville Predators.

Every Friday this season is Predators Pride Day.
