NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Three people have been charged in connection to an aggravated robbery turned shooting Friday night.

Police state Matthew Harris, 18, was standing in the backyard of his home in the 400 block of Moore Avenue when three individuals pulled up in a black SUV.

They said Harris entered the vehicle to take part in a marijuana transaction when one of the individuals, identified as 23-year-old Terrell Matthews, pulled a gun on him.

A struggle ensued.  Harris was shot in the shoulder and Matthews was shot in the leg.

One of Harris' relatives heard the gunfire and came outside to find Matthews on top of Harris.  The relative then hit Matthews in the head with a hammer to defend Harris.

During the struggle, the two individuals in the SUV, identified as 21-year-old Kimberly Booker and a 17-year-old male, fled the scene on foot.

At that time, a second relative held Matthews at gunpoint until police arrived.

Harris and Matthews were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Matthews, Booker and the juvenile male are all charged with especially aggravated robbery.  The 17-year-old is being charge in juvenile court.

Matthews and Booker are being held in lieu of $100,000 bond each.
