MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A manager of a FedEx Office Ship and Print Center is facing felony theft charges after Murfreesboro police detectives said he stole toner cartridges worth nearly $400,000.

Timothy Stone, 44, is accused of stealing the toner cartridges and selling them to online competitors.

He bonded out of the Rutherford County jail after posting $10,000 bond.

Investigators discovered the thefts may have started as early as 2006.

Stone did not want to comment when Nashville's News 2 reached him at his home Friday. He referred all questions to his attorney.

His attorney also did not comment on the pending case.

FedEx released a statement to News 2 about Stone's arrest.

"We are aware of the arrest of a FedEx Office manager in Murfreesboro, Tennessee," FedEx Office Spokesperson Heather Alexander wrote in an email. "We hold our team members to the highest standards of personal integrity and responsibility and have zero tolerance for any theft in our system."

The statement continued, "We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation and will have to refer you to them for further information."

FedEx would not tell News 2 if Stone was still employed by the company.

On his arrest report under "occupation," the arresting officer wrote "no."

Stone is due in Rutherford County General Sessions Court at 8 a.m. on October 14.

His charge is theft over $60,000, which is a Class B felony.

Stone faces between eight and 30 years in prison and fines up to $25,000.
