FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

Franklin police are hoping the sketch of a suspect and his vehicle description will help identify the man involved in a roadside robbery.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, a woman experiencing car trouble pulled to the shoulder of Interstate 65 south near exit 61.

While the woman was waiting for a tow truck, the suspect approached the woman's passenger side window and repeatedly demanded money.

During the robbery, the man reached into the small of his back, as if reaching for a weapon, while screaming at the woman.

The woman gave the man her cash and he ran to his car, described as a 1980s model maroon Buick with rust spots and a Tennessee license plate.

The suspect is a black male with a short gray beard.  He is about five feet, 10 inches tall with a thin build, a wide-set nose and small eyes.

At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black beanie cap, a dirty white t-shirt and white-washed jeans during the robbery.

Anyone with information is urged to call Franklin police at 615-794-2513.
