Gunman shoots through door, robs Sonic employees

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A robbery occurred at a south Nashville Sonic early Thursday morning.

The incident was reported around 5:40 a.m. at 2780 Murfreesboro Pike.

Authorities said the suspect attempted to enter the restaurant through the back door, but failed.  He then shot the glass out of the front door, entered, and held two employees at gunpoint.

He then took four fanny packs that employees use to carry money and make change for customers before fleeing on foot.

Police said the suspect is described as a black male around five feet, 10 inches tall.  He weighed approximately 160 pounds and was wearing a black ski mask, latex gloves, black shorts, a black hooded sweatshirt and shoes with white soles.

The investigation is ongoing.

Initial reports indicated an armed man first attempted to enter the back of the restaurant first.

 

He was wearing a black ski mask, a backpack, white soled shoes, dark shorts and light colored gloves with a dark shirt underneath a hooded sweatshirt.
