Tropical Storm In Gulf? Cooler Next Week; What About Weekend?

Posted:

We've got a lot to talk about in the extended forecast!

First of all, we are likely to see a tropical storm develop in the Gulf soon as the disturbed weather in the NW Caribbean intensifies and moves northward. If it reaches T. S. strength it will be named "Karen".

The likely track is to come ashore at or near the Florida panhandle late Saturday or early Sunday and move northeast quickly staying south of Middle Tennessee. It should become no stronger than a tropical storm.

Meanwhile, a pool of cooler air now in western Canada should be pushing our way over the weekend.

Right now, timing of some showers and t'storms with that front is Saturday night through Sunday morning. That timing is subject to change, so with lots of college football Saturday night and a big Titans game on Sunday, keep up with the latest on News 2.

Behind that front, another taste of fall is on the way for early next week, possibly starting as soon as Sunday!
