One person was arrested following a police pursuit spanning two counties early Saturday morning.

Metro police told News 2 the chase started somewhere in Robertson County and moved into Davidson County just before 1 a.m.

Troopers were holding a sobriety checkpoint on US Highway 431 in Robertson County when they tried to stop Gregory Hill in his Ford F-250.

Hill put his truck in reverse, hit another vehicle behind him, then he drove his truck past the checkpoint toward troopers.

One officer shot the right rear tire of Hill's car, but it didn't stop him from driving.

Officials said another trooper ran across the roadway to avoid the fleeing truck and was hit by a patrol car.

He was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Police chased Hill down US 431 and caught up to the suspect on Briley Parkway near Interstate 24, where Hill got out of his truck and ran into a field.

Hill resisted arrest, but was eventually apprehended and taken into custody.

Charges are pending for and the investigation is ongoing
