FAIRVIEW, Tenn. -

An 82-year-old woman with Alzheimer's missing since Wednesday night in Williamson County has been found safe.

Clara Carter was located around 10 a.m. Thursday near her home in Fairview, about 30 minutes west of Nashville.

A resident searching for the woman found on his property found Carter about 50 yards off the road, along a tree line, and contacted local authorities.

She was just several hundred yards from her home.

Family members told News 2 Carter was clutching a tree limb but in good spirits.  She told rescuers, "I think I'm stuck. It's always something."

"We praise God that's she's alright. Thank you, Lord," relative Tammy Wilkerson told News 2.  "We are overwhelmed with joy.  We thank everyone, everywhere that helped us. Thank you."

Carter was loaded onto a stretcher and taken from the scene by ambulance to be examined at Saint Thomas West Hospital.

She went missing around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.  Crews searched for her overnight although had to scale back their efforts at times due to heavy fog.

More than 100 family and community members participated in the search efforts.
