CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -

Divers located the bodies of two 11 year old boys who disappeared while swimming in a Chattanooga creek over the weekend.

According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Kentory Ray and Thomas Ruffin went missing while swimming in South Chickamauga Creek on Sunday afternoon.

Crews recovered their bodies on Monday afternoon.

The newspaper reported the two victims, alongside two other boys, were playing in the water when Ray, who did not know how to swim slipped and went underwater.

Ruffin, who did know how to swim, attempted to help Ray before he also went underwater without resurfacing.

The other two boys immediately went for help when the pair did not reappear from the water.

Both Ray and Ruffin were in the sixth grade at Tyner Middle Academy.
