Former firefighter charged with raping teen at fire station

A former volunteer firefighter in Pleasant View was arrested last week on charges he raped a 14-year-old girl.

According to the Robertson County Times, the majority of the sexual encounters between Joseph McQuiston and the victim took place at the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department.

Fire Chief P.J. Duncan told the paper McQuiston was not active with the department when he met the girl at the station on Maxey Road but still had a key.

He said the incident has prompted the department to begin taking bids on an updated security system.

McQuiston, 36, of Cedar Hill, was an active firefighter with the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department for about six years until 2005.

He was arrested last Monday, September 16 and charged with aggravated statutory rape.

He has since been released on $5,000 bond.
