ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. -

A man was arrested after he struck a school bus with students on board in Robertson County Monday afternoon.

Brandon Diggs, 21, was driving a four-door Saturn when he rear-ended the bus around 4 p.m.

Diggs and his 16-year-old passenger fled the scene on foot.  Officers searched the vehicle and found a small bag of marijuana.

The female passenger was found walking nearby and released to her parents.

The vehicle's owner called White House police and attempted to report their vehicle stolen.  However, police discovered the owner was a friend of Diggs.

Diggs later turned himself in to authorities.

Police learned he had looked down at his phone when the accident occurred.

No one was injured.

Diggs is charged with driving on a revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to exercise due care while driving and possession of marijuana.

He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant in Robertson County.

Diggs is being held without bond.
