The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Sunday night arrested a Jackson man for a murder over the weekend in Shelbyville.
Jonathan "Cody" Minnick, 23, was found dead in his Vandy Avenue home Saturday afternoon. One of his roommates discovered his body.
An autopsy revealed he died from blunt force trauma to the head after previous reports indicated he was shot to death.
Ronnie Osler, 46, is charged with one count of criminal homicide, as well as violating his probation.
The TBI said Osler was living at the Vandy Avenue residence and was immediately identified as a suspect.
He was found at the Imperial Motel in Murfreesboro Sunday night and arrested without incident.
Also on Sunday night, friends and family gathered outside Minnick's home for a candlelight vigil.
His longtime friends say the unexpected loss is painful.
"He's a buddy that I grew up with my whole life," said childhood friend Bird Nelson. "I just don't know how somebody could do something like this."
Investigators believe Osler and Minnick got into an argument over money.
Osler was booked into the Bedford County jail and is being held without bond.
