Titans defeat Chargers 20-17 in first home game of season

The Tennessee Titans defeated the San Diego Chargers 20-17 in the first home game of the season on Sunday at LP Field.

Despite a ton of penalties in the first half the Titans managed to stay even with San Diego and avoid a deficit blocking a Chargers field goal in the second half.

At half time the teams were tied at 10-10.

After the Chargers took a seven point lead the Titans cut it to four with a late field goal. A big defensive stop gave them the ball back with 2:05 to play and no timeouts.

Jake Locker led a 10 play, 94 yard drive capped off with a 34 yard touchdown pass to Titans rookie and former Vol Justin Hunter. It was Locker's 2nd career 4th quarter comeback and Hunter's first NFL reception as the Titans win 20-17.

The Titans will play the New York Jets next Sunday at LP Field. Kick off is set for 3:05 p.m.
