Darius Rucker celebrates No. 1 hit at Ryman

Country crooner Darius Rucker celebrated his latest number one hit "Wagon Wheel" at the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville Monday.

The song, originally recorded by Old Crow Medicine Show, was written by Ketch Secor after he listened to a cassette tape of Bob Dylan's outtakes from the mid-90s.

Rucker said as soon as he heard the song he knew he wanted to record it.

"I'm telling you in the middle of it I'm on the phone to my producer saying, 'I want to cut 'Wagon Wheel,'" Rucker said.  "He's like, ‘A lot of people have cut it' and I'm like dude, ‘I'm not asking, I'm telling you we're going to cut ‘Wagon Wheel.'"

"Wagon Wheel" is on Rucker's latest album "True Believers."
