NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A 29-year-old pedestrian was hit and killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning on Briley Parkway.

The crash occurred just after 5 a.m. on Briley Parkway West near the exit for Gallatin Pike.

The victim, Jayson Hazley, was walking near the median with another person when he was struck.

Police said Hazley and a friend were using Briley Parkway to walk from his apartment to his friend's motel room on Dickerson Pike when he was struck.

His friend was not injured.

Police said the vehicle did not stop and continued traveling westbound.

Due to a citizen's tip, fatal crash investigators were able to recover a vehicle suspected in the accident, a 2004 silver Pontiac Grand Prix.

Officers are working to identify and locate the driver.

Anyone having knowledge of the driver involved is urged to call Metro police or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
