MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

The American Heart Association is raising money on Saturday at the 2013 Rutherford Heart Walk.

The donations will help prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.

Sandra Miller, a Rutherford Heart Walk honoree, said she was eating right and doing everything she thought she needed to do to be healthy, but wasn't checking her blood pressure regularly and didn't understand how important that was.

Then Miller began suffering a massive headache four years ago while working out.

"By the grace of God, I got to the hospital in time for them to figure out, pretty immediately, that I was having a brain aneurysm," Miller explained.

Saturday's walk will begin with a Fun Run at 8:25 a.m. and the Heart Walk beginning at 8:30 a.m.

It will take place at the Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Anyone that raises $100 or more for the benefit will receive a Heart Walk T-shirt.

The walk is a family-friendly event and everyone is encouraged to attend.
