HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -

The case against a Hendersonville man charged in the February shooting death of his wife has been continued until December.

Joseph Cundiff was scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning for the murder of his wife, Ashlee.

Cundiff told police he was cleaning his gun on February 13 when it accidentally fired, striking his wife, Ashlee.

The 26-year-old mother of two died from her injuries six days after the shooting.

Police initially charged Joseph Cundiff with aggravated assault.  The charge was later upgraded to first degree murder after detectives learned Cundiff moved his wife after the shooting and they found his gun in another area of the home.

Joseph Cundiff remains behind bars without bond.
