NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The case against four former Vanderbilt University football players charged with raping a student on campus this summer has been continued until next month.

Brandon Vandenburg, Jaborian "Tip" McKenzie, Brandon Banks and Cory Batey were scheduled to appear in court next Thursday, September 19.

Their new court date is now October 16.

The men are charged with raping an unconscious 21-year-old female student in the Gillette House dormitory on June 23.

All are free on bond.

Their former teammate, wide receiver Chris Boyd, is also charged in connection to the case after police said he helped cover up the crime.

He will appear in a Davidson County courtroom Friday.  Boyd is suspended from the football team but has not been dismissed.
