NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A suspended Vanderbilt football player charged in connection to an on-campus rape earlier this summer will be in court Friday.
Chris Boyd was initially scheduled to be in court on September 19 along with the four other ex-players accused in the case.
It is unclear why the court date was moved.
Boyd was charged as an accessory after the fact after police say he took part in an attempted cover up of the June 23 sexual assault of an unconscious 21-year-old female student in the Gillette House dormitory.
He was indicted in mid-August and has since been released on a $25,000 bond.
Brandon Vandenburg and fellow ex-football players Jaborian "Tip" McKenzie, Brandon Banks and Cory Batey each face five counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery in the case.
They are all scheduled to be in court next Thursday, September 19.
