According to police a medical condition may have caused a fatal single vehicle accident Saturday morning in Nashville.
Demetrius Ellis, 32, was driving a Nissan Rogue northbound on Barbara Lynn Way around 7:00 a.m.
For reasons unknown Ellis' SUV traveled through the intersection and across Chesapeake Drive.
The vehicle then traveled into a yard in the 3600 block of Chesapeake Drive where the SUV continued through a chain link fence and struck a tree.
Ellis was transported to Skyline Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Her three-month-old son was a passenger in the vehicle during the accident.
He was seated in the back of the vehicle and was not injured.
The investigation remains ongoing.
