Franklin police say 'band of thieves' distracted employees
FRANKLIN, Tenn. -
Franklin police are seeking information on a group of women who distracted employees at a local Belk department store while their partners-in-crime slipped into a back room and stole items from the employees' purses.
Clerks at the Belk Home Store told police between 10 and 15 women kept them busy on the afternoon of August 26 while others slipped into an employee-only area and cleaned out their purses.
Among the items stolen were wallets, bank cards, sunglasses and an iPhone.
Some of the stolen cards were used at the Galleria Boulevard Target store immediately following the theft.
