Woman, 95, dies after being hit by SUV in west Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A 95-year-old woman critically injured after being struck by an SUV in west Nashville Thursday morning has died.

Metro police said Elisabeth Neuss passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. in front of Saint Thomas West Hospital on Harding Pike.

Neuss was walking on the sidewalk in front of the US Bank across from the hospital when she was struck.

The driver of the SUV, 59-year-old Richard Regen Jr., reported he did not see Neuss as he was pulling out of the bank's parking lot.

The accident remains under investigation.

No charges have been filed.
