SPARTA, Tenn. -

A Nashville man drowned Monday while swimming at Burgess Falls State Park in Sparta.

Putnam County EMS official Mike Hellman told News 2 that 22-year-old Abdala Amsabil was swimming at the base of the large falls in the park, when he disappeared below the surface.

Park rangers were notified at 1:30 p.m. when Amsabil went missing.

Putnam County and White County rescue dive teams were called in to search.

Rescue teams located the victim's body 11 feet underwater around 3:30 p.m.

Amsabil is the third Nashville area person to die in a water-related accident over Labor Day weekend.

Sunday, a 39-year-old La Vergne man died after he was thrown from his boat on Percy Priest Lake in Nashville and Monday, a Smyrna High School student drowned in Murfreesboro.
