Rocketown kicks off school year with anti-bullying rally

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Rocketown decided to celebrate the new school year with an anti-bullying rally on Saturday night.

Bullying has become an issue in schools when students seem to be unprotected from things fellow classmates may say about them.  The consequences oof which might even be fatal.

Equipping students with answers to this situation was important for former Mrs. Tennessee, Tiffany Love.

As a kick-off for the school year, Love decided to organize an event to create awareness among students.

The goal was to teach students what to do if they are the victim of bullying.

"What we're telling them is basically to love themselves inside out. They have to love themselves first and identify who they are in order to stand up to any bully because you and I know that both words kill," said Love.

Students were also able to enjoy a benefit concert, a play, dance and fashion show.

This initiative seeks to eliminate bullying from the classrooms.
