Police use billboard to seek clues in boy's '92 murder case

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -

Hendersonville police are using a billboard to seek new clues in a 21-year-old murder case.

Eight-year-old Brandon Green was hit and killed by a vehicle on May 1, 1992.

The driver sped away immediately following the accident.

"We feel like the billboard may draw someone who, for some reason would not come back then," said J.D. Coarsey, a Detective Sgt in Hendersonville's criminal investigation unit.

Green was playing near his grandparent's home on Savely Drive in Hendersonville when the accident occurred.

During the initial investigation, eyewitnesses and paint recovered at the scene had police searching for a blue vehicle.

New technology, said Coarsey, makes them certain it was a red vehicle with a blue license plate on the front.

Coarsey said the accident happened around 5 p.m.

"There were cars coming home from work, and home from work at that time. So the ability for someone to recall and remember something, I think still looms out there," Coarsey said, adding, "Hopefully we'll get that one tip."

Anyone with any information should call Hendersonville Crime Stoppers 615-573-5400.
