A Brentwood mom will make her national TV debut on Lifetime's "Supermarket Superstars" Thursday night in hopes of getting her new creation, 101 Sauce, on grocery store shelves.
"Supermarket Superstars" gives every day people like Jennifer McNabb a shot at getting their product on grocery store shelves.
Aimed to make dinner easier, McNabb's 101 Sauce can be used straight out of the jar in a multitude of ways.
"It's the chopping; it's the dicing; it's the layering of flavors; it's that whole time element that just takes so much time to build a meal, and that's how I came up with it. I thought, ‘I'm going to take that away,'" McNabb told News 2.
She's created two versions so far, Red and Green. The red sauce is tomato-based while the green is herb and wine-based.
The sauces can be used on their own, straight out of the jar, or as an ingredient mixed with other ingredients and spices.
"You could add the same ingredients and add a different spice, or what about instead of chicken you used fish? Or you grill some Portobello mushrooms, if you're vegetarian. You can just twist it slightly and it's just completely different," McNabb explained.
She'll take the spotlight Thursday at 9:30 p.m. on Lifetime.
The winner receives $10,000 for themselves and another $100,000 to launch their product.
