Gap Inc. plans to expand their distribution center in Gallatin in the near future, creating close to 100 jobs in the process.
Bill Hagerty, Commissioner for the Department of Economic and Community Development, said the expansion amounts to an investment of around $35 million in Sumner County.
Gap's facility in Gallatin provides service for the South for Gap brands, which include Gap, Gap Outlet, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory and Old Navy.
In 2012, the company brought in 2,500 jobs to Tennessee.
Hagerty said Gap's decision to expand their Middle Tennessee distribution center speaks highly of the state's central location and infrastructure.
