This Week Only the 3rd Extended Warm Spell This Summer

Posted:

We all know that it's been wetter and cooler than normal this summer.

So I looked back in the records for the months of June, July & August.

As far as hot temperatures go, so far we have only seen two periods of 90° plus temps that lasted more than 3 days.  Both were 8 days long, one in June and the other in July (see graphic).

We're about to add a third one this week, extending right on through the Labor Day Weekend.

Local college football gets underway Thursday night and Saturday.

Expect a lot of heat and humidity, with evening temperatures remaining in the 80s for night games.

Don't over exert yourself in the heat this holiday weekend!
