Lebanon police were working four crashes on Interstate 40 eastbound Saturday night. The first crash, which was reported at 5:30 p.m., occurred at mile marker 239E.
Police say five vehicles, including one tractor-trailer, were involved in the wreck.I-40 east was closed for some time after as crews worked to clear the scene. Three more wrecks, believed to be caused by a chain reaction from the first collision, occurred at mile markers 238, 237 and 236. Lebanon police and TDOT rerouted traffic to Exit 236 while the roadways were cleared.Police also said traffic heading to the Wilson County Fair in Lebanon made the congestion even worse.By 7:00 p.m., all lanes of traffic were reopened.
