New urban development set to break ground in Germantown

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

There is a new urban development set to break ground in historic Germantown.

It's called "Luxus Germantown." The $3 million project consists of six row homes which range in price from $400,000 to $900,000.

The project, located at the south east corner of 5th Ave North and Monroe Street, is within the Germantown Historic Overlay District and has already obtained approval by the Metropolitan Historical Zoning Commission of Nashville and Davidson County.

"This development is a done deal. Construction will begin next week in Germantown," Jim Creason with Trust Development LLC said.

Creason added that of the six homes that are scheduled to be built, five of them have already been sold.

"We actually did not list these on the MLS for sale. We were able to generate that level of interest through just word of mouth," Creason explained.

Earlier this week, Nashville Mayor Karl Dean announced his desire to see a new baseball stadium for the Sounds at Sulphur Dell which is located just two blocks away from the new residential development.

If approved, the baseball stadium is expected to be completed by 2015.
