Hickman County school placed on brief lockdown

LYLES, Tenn. -

A Hickman County school was placed on a lockdown for a short time on Friday afternoon.

The lockdown was put in place at East Hickman County Middle School around 11:45 a.m. after a student reported seeing man wearing camouflage clothing and a mask standing close to a nearby wooded area.

Gunfire shots were reported a short time later.

Authorities responded to scene and are continuing to search for a person of interest who may have been driving a red pickup truck.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Students were dismissed on schedule Friday afternoon.
