NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
One of the three men indicted Friday in connection with the Vanderbilt rape case is fighting extradition to Nashville.
Twenty-year-old Joseph Quinzio appeared in a Riverside, California courtroom on Monday, The Tennessean reported.
Quinzio is charged with tampering with evidence; however, his attorney told the newspaper his client is only involved in the case because he received a text message from one of the Vanderbilt suspects.
Quinzio is due back in court on Wednesday for a bail hearing.
Vanderbilt Receiver Chris Boyd, 21, and Miles Finley, 19, of California were also indicted on Friday.
All three have turned themselves in to authorities. *The Tennessean contributed to this report.
