Man wanted after fire claims stepfather's life

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Police are searching for the man accused of starting a fire that killed his step-father.

Alexander Ray's badly burned body was found in a basement bedroom of his home located on McGavock Pike at Glenmeade Drive on the morning of August 5.

The fire was contained to the home's basement.

Ray's step-son, Cecil Whited, is now wanted by police for arson and the 52-year-old man's death.

Authoritues believe Whited is still in the Nashville area.

The motive of the fire and homicide remain under investigation.  Four other people were inside the home at the time of the fire and escaped without injury.

Anyone with information on Whited's whereabouts is urged to contact police at 74-CRIME.
