As an employee was complying with his demand, he jumped over the counter where he remained until he was given approximately 14,000 pills and $500 in cash.

Stewart fled in an older model green car driven by a man later identified as Matthew Chrisman.

A citizen provided an excellent suspect description and the getaway car was stopped a short time later on nearby Myatt Drive.

During the traffic stop, Stewart fled on foot but was soon apprehended with the help of a canine officer.

He was transported to Metro General Hospital to be treated for his wounds.

During an interview with detectives, Chrisman, 26, admitted his involvement in the robbery.  Stewart was positively identified as the gunman.

The stolen items were located inside the vehicle, as well as the hat, gloves and sunglasses Stewart used in the robbery.

In addition to Stewart's prior convictions for aggravated robbery and robbery, police said he also has felony theft convictions in Davidson, Williamson and Sumner counties.
