NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

The newly renovated Wright Middle School library made its public debut just in time for the new school year.

The 5,100 square feet of learning space features iPad stations, computer stations and 15 small lockers where students can charge their personal electronic devices in a safe place.

"When you close it, you can put in a four digit lock and it won't open and you can be sure no one is going to take your stuff while you're out doing something else," explained one student of the lockers.

Funding for the newly renovated library was made possible by a $500,000 gift from John and Stephanie Ingram.

"This community is maybe somewhat over looked and it's nice to be able to do something that helps the people of this neighborhood," John Ingram explained.

Wright Middle School serves a diverse population with 22 languages spoke among its 875 students.

"It means just knowing that they're valued and seeing how much the community really wants them to have a great education and is doing what they can to give them that great education.  I think it really shows them how valuable they really are," librarian Allison Barney said.

When school is not in session, the new library will be open in the evenings for basic adult education, as well as Spanish language classes for teachers.
