Portion of state building evacuated after unusual odor reported
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Emergency crews evacuated a portion of a state building in downtown Nashville Monday afternoon after workers reported an unusual odor.
The incident was reported around 2 p.m. at the Davy Crockett Tower located at 500 James Robertson Parkway.
The twelfth floor of the building, which houses the State Department of Commerce and Insurance and the state Fire Marshal's Office, was evacuated as a precaution after two employees complained of illness.
No one was transported to the hospital.
Employees have since been allowed to re-enter the building. No word on what the suspicious odor was.
