NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

For the second straight year Middle Tennessee will have a team in the Little League World Series.

The South Nashville All-Stars Little League team made a comeback after being behind by three points and ended the game with a 5-3 win in Friday's Southeast Region final.

Friday's game was a rematch of the opening game of this regional tournament played in Warner Robins, Georgia. Virginia won the first game but on Friday night, The Tennessee team scored all five runs in the bottom of the third inning.

The big blow came from Robert Hassell who blasted a two-run home run with two outs. It turned out to be all the runs South Nashville needed to win the game.

Trae McLemore took the mound and closed out the game with three innings of scoreless relief.

South Nashville is advancing to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania as the Southeast Region champion.

Eight teams will compete for the U.S. Championship. The U.S. champion then plays the international champion for the World Series title.

Goodlettsville's run to the final game in last year captivated fans across Middle Tennessee.

This South Nashville team lost the first game of the district, state, and regional tournaments, needing long winning streaks to win all three. Now the team is headed to Williamsport.

South Nashville's first game at the Little League World Series will be Thursday night at 6:00 p.m.

South Nashville will play the New England region champion. Westport, Connecticut and Lincoln, Rhode Island will play for the New England title Saturday night.
