Vehicle collides with dune buggy in Smyrna: kills 1, injures 2
SMYRNA, Tenn. -
An accident in Smyrna involving a vehicle and a homemade dune buggy has killed one person and injured two others.
On Sunday just before 10:00 a.m. a Hyundai driven by Autumn Schulz, 20, of Smyrna, pulled into the path of a dune buggy being driven by Robert Hargrove Jr., 42, of Lavergne, and his wife Susan Hargrove, 43, was a passenger.
The collision happened on Weakley Lane at the intersection of Buttonwood Drive in Smyrna.
The passenger of the dune buggy, Mrs. Hargrove, also of Lavergne, was killed due to the injuries sustained in the accident.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Hargrove were airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. On Thursday, Mrs. Hargrove passed away at VUMC.
Schulz was transported to Stonecrest Medical Center.
The investigation of the accident remains ongoing.
