Coach Munchak likes early gains in Titans' run game

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Titans certainly have talked a lot the past few months about being able to run the ball. They finally got a chance to do just that in a game, and coach Mike Munchak is encouraged by the early results.

The Titans ran for 92 yards in the first quarter Thursday night and averaged 13.1 yards per carry. The numbers are helped by Chris Johnson breaking loose on a well-blocked play for a 58-yard touchdown. But free agent signee Shonn Greene added five carries for 32 yards and capped a 61-yard drive with his own 19-yard score.

Tennessee lost Thursday night's preseason opener 22-21 to Washington.

Munchak said Friday that's what the Titans are hoping to be all about and hoping to establish offensively this season.
