The Tennessee Titans take on the Washington Redskins in their first preseason game Thursday night at LP Field. Downtown workers making the commute home, as well as football fans heading to LP Field, are reminded that the Woodland Street Bridge will close to motorists at 4:30 p.m.
Officers will be on hand to direct drivers to alternate routes.
If James Robertson Parkway becomes overcrowded, traffic will be diverted to Jefferson Street or the Metro Center area via Third Avenue.
Gates to LP Field will open at 5 p.m. Stadium parking lots will open at 3 p.m. to fans with parking passes. No cash parking will be available at the stadium.
A shuttle service will be up and running from the state parking lots at Fourth Avenue North and Harrison Street, and from 10th Circle North downtown beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Those attending the game are reminded of the NFL's new league-wide restrictions on bags that can brought into stadiums. Any bag larger than a clutch style purse must be a clear, plastic bag.
Officials told News 2 the best approach for fans is to use a clear, plastic one-gallon freezer bag or purchase a clear NFL bag. Season ticket holders received a clear NFL bag for free.
