MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -
During a bout of road rage, a Murfreesboro man put on a joker's mask and pointed a pistol at another driver on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Vine and Academy streets, just a few blocks from the police station.
Sgt. Kyle Evans reported that one car swerved or cut the other car off, and both drivers became engaged with one another.
What began as a verbal back-and-forth quickly became more threatening when 22-year-old Jordan Scott put on a mask and pointed a loaded gun at the other driver.
The mask resembled that of The Joker, the infamous villain from the Batman series.
"Anyone who would wear a joker's mask, especially after the events in Aurora, Colorado, attempting to intimidate and scare other people; when you add a gun to it, it just escalates things so much worse," Sgt. Evans said.
Scott was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault in addition drug charges after police found marijuana in his car.
